Devoid of Political Violence during elections- Banda Chief urges the youth
The Chief of Banda Boase in Banda Traditional Area in the Banda District of the Bono Region, (d33fo) Dua Batabo) Ligbi Wullitei II, has urged Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to follow the country’s laws in order to ensure violence-free elections.
He stated that acts of violence and lawlessness prior to and following the declaration of election results on December 7, 2024 are not acceptable for Ghanaians.
)d33fo) Dua Batabo) Ligbi Wullitei II highlighted that anything that threatens the fundamental peace and freedom that the country enjoys should not be permitted.
In an interview with Radio West Africa’s Nana Anfreh Damanata over the weekend, the Chief criticized the acts of violence and lawlessness that led to the death of Silas Wullo Sakyameh during the limited registration exercise in 2020.
)d33fo) Dua Batabo) Ligbi Wullitei II, Chairman of the Banda District’s election resolution committee, stated that Chiefs and people in Banda felt embarrassed during that period when they traveled outside Banda to other areas and people pointed fingers at them, claiming that they were a Chief or a Banda native.
He asked Ghanaians to realize that their country is governed by a constitution.
The Chief further reiterated that any disputes pertaining to any part of the election process must be addressed and settled in accordance with the legal procedures.
