A/R: NPP remains resolute in its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Ghanaian teachers-Napo
The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has asserted that the NPP government, under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has done more for the welfare and advancement of teachers than any administration in Ghana’s Fourth Republic. He said this when he engaged with various teacher groups in the Ashanti Region.
During the discussions, he emphasized that the welfare of teachers under the NPP government has consistently been superior to what was experienced under the Mahama administration. He said this on authority as former Minister for Education under the NPP government. Among other things, the teacher in Ghana currently starts on a salary three times what they received in 2016.
He said under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP remains resolute in its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Ghanaian teachers. We recognize and deeply value the indispensable role they play in shaping the teaching and learning process, which is the backbone of our nation’s development.

As he bow out as Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, he commissioned a three-storey multipurpose auditorium, complete with ancillary facilities and well-designed external works, located in AshTown. This facility stands as evidence of his collective efforts to enhance the social infrastructure of the constituency.
This has been designed to host various activities, providing a modern space for religious gatherings, social functions, and a wide array of other events that bring people together. It is my hope that this project will not only cater for the immediate needs of our community but also inspire unity and foster development for generations to come.
