I’m not affected by criticisms – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says he isn’t perturbed by criticism since he has to overcome way more difficult situations in his career.

He said this ahead of Ghana’s final 2025 AFCON qualifier against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium at 16:00 GMT on Monday, November 18.

Ghana goes into the game with its failure to progress to the 2025 AFCON confirmed after drawing 1-1 with Angola in Luanda. The draw means Ghana is without a win five games into the qualifiers.

Otto Addo has come under immense pressure for the poor run of form with several calls being made for his exit but in response to how he reacts to such calls, the German-born coach said he has had to deal with way more difficult situations in his life.

“I think this is part of the job, I knew what to expect when I took this job…it’s kind of normal. I grew up in Germany in an environment with a lot of white people, a lot of racists, a lot of hatred and for me, I went through a lot in my life to even be a footballer, I worked a lot and was the same as a coach.”

“I always have to fight my way through so it (criticism) doesn’t affect me to be honest because I went through so much. I know where I’m coming from.”
