The audio recording is a “mischievous”, “awful and fraudulent,”-Francis Oti Boateng clears the air
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Asante Akim North Hon. Francis Oti Boateng has dismissed the leaked audio attributed to him in which he was making explosive comments about Asante Akim North Elections.
According to the (MCE) the tape was doctored by some unscrupulous persons in the district to create displeasure between him and the Member of Parliament Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi and the party as well.
The individual on the aforementioned tape was heard talking about ways to increase the NPP’s votes, particularly in the Parliamentary results, such as swapping ballot boxes.
According to BNI reports, the Independent Candidate has bribed electoral officers to help him snatch the seat from the incumbent. They also talk about the MP’s plans to invade additional security men to scare the independent candidate on election day.
The tape also discusses a fire incident that has destroyed some properties and the state of the fire station in the Municipality. The conversation was between two people over the phone, but it appears that the recording was made from the claimed MCE’s end. Once more, the aforementioned individual was heard mocking the MPs’ plans to rig the elections and attacking Ernest Owusu Bempah of Ghana Gas for attempting to sabotage his work. A Queen Mother from the District was also included.
In a chat with the MCE to confirmed the said circulated tape by myashhonline.com on Wednesday, the DCE described the audio recording as a “mischievous”, “vile and fraudulent,” piece that must not be given attention.
“This act of desperation by independent candidate and some dishonest people in the Constituency does not surprise me. He told myashhonline.com, “This is part of their strategies to create confusion in which some people have been bought to malign my hard worn integrity in the wake of an impending damning defeat by the independent candidate and our opponents.”
He claimed that the distribution of the aforementioned recording was intended to damage the NPP’s reputation and that of his office.
Adding that, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate who is the incumbent MP Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi’s character did not align with the remarks recorded in the tape.
I must state that I have filed a case with the police, and investigations are underway to identify the culprits of this crime.
