Delayed allowance is better than cancelled allowance – Napo to trainee nurses
Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has assured trainee nurses that the government is working to prevent delays in the payment of their allowances.
Addressing students of Korlebu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Accra while campaigning, he noted that while delays may occur, they are preferable to the cancellation of the allowances.
The students of the Korle Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training Institutions made it unequivocally clear that they fully understand the far-reaching implications of their votes on December 7.
They are voting to safeguard the Free SHS policy for the benefit of their brothers, sisters and generations yet unborn.
They are voting to ensure that the lights stay on.
They are voting to support the realisation of Agenda 111—hospitals where they may one day have the opportunity to work, among others.
They are voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia because he is the man of the moment—leading the digital transformation and guiding Ghana into active participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh took the opportunity to urge the young individuals, beyond their resolve to vote for the NPP, to also spread Dr. Bawumia’s message of hope and bold solutions for the future.
Speaking to trainee nurses at Korlebu Nursing and Midwifery training school, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring the prompt disbursement of these allowances.
Addressing a gathering of the trainees, Napo emphasised his commitment to ensuring that their allowances are allocated promptly.
“One of the things I was clear about in the 2020 elections. I was very adamant, and our party was adamant that we will restore the nursing training allowances, they cancelled. And we have restored the nursing training allowances.
The running mate assured the audience that steps would be taken to prevent any delays in the future.
Napa’s reassurance comes as a response to concerns raised by trainees regarding the irregularity of their allowances.
By promising to address these issues, he aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by trainees and support their education and training endeavours.
He stated that he is hopeful the government will eradicate the issue of delayed payment of allowances for trainee nurses in the country.
There may be delays, but allowances delayed are better than allowances cancelled.
Senior Campaign aid for the running mate, Dr. Henery Kwabena Kokofu said the flag bearer, Dr. Bawumia settled on Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh because he is a man of good heart, a man who can do it and a performer and Achiever and understands the dynamics of Ghana’s politics. He said the December 7 elections will be won from the Ashanti Region and everything is set but what the party needs is the support from all constituencies across the country.
He added that that Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh and the New Patriotic Party means business because they have what it takes to rule the country.
He highlight some of the initiatives implemented by the NPP since the time of former president J.A Kuffour saying the NPP is the only government that has the country at heart.
Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Prince Obeng noted that the 2024 elections is about the future of the country.
He said in the whole of the world, just four models has propelled a progress and developmental agenda of a country and that is education, digitalization, industrialization and skills training and the the current government led by President Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia has championed it.
