Upgrade Wenchi Agricultural College to University status – Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Tabrako III

The Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, has urged the government to transform Wenchi Agricultural College (WAC) into a full-fledged university.

The Omanhene stated that converting Wenchi Agricultural College into a university would improve student training and supply the agricultural sector with the necessary human resources.

He underlined that it will also improve productivity and value, as well as maintain youth interest in the government’s planting for food and jobs initiative.

In order to reduce unemployment, Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III has also called for the construction of a cashew processing factory and the renovation of defunct agricultural facilities like the Wenchi TOMACAN, animal hospitals, mechanization, and state farms.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III made the call on Sunday, October 13, 2024, when the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid a courtesy visit to the Omanhene and his elders at the Ahenfie Yefiri Royal Palace to seek his blessings ahead of the December 7 elections.

The Omanhene further asked for the renovation of Wenchi roads.

Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia also promises to revise Act 60 of the Chieftaincy Act with the assistance of Artonmy General in order to empower traditional rulers.

Dr. Bawumia also vowed to boost allowances for Paramount Chiefs, Divisional Chiefs, and Queen Mothers.
