EC is not interested in manipulating election for one party-Osei-Nsiah.

The Ashanti Regional Director of Electoral Commission (EC) Mr. Francis Osei-Nsiah -Esq has stated that their outfit has no capacity to rig the 2024 general election in favour of any political party as is being speculated by the opposition parties .

The Director who is a Retired Fifa Referee said the watertight process of the country’s electoral laws and transparency of the EC’s activities did not give room for rigging of elections.

Speaking on Ashh fm’s National Agenda Monday, October 14, 2024, in a studio interview with Oderfour Qwasi Kay, Mr. Osei-Nsiah emphasized that instead of accusing the Commission of trying to rig the elections, the political parties should concentrate on educating their agents to actively engage in the election-related process.

According to him, there is no room for opacity in the electoral process because it was transparent from voter registration to voter registration display, balloting for positions on the ballot, ballot paper printing, and election day activities.

He disclosed that, political parties were formally notified of any voter registration drive at least 21 days before to its start.

Furthermore, election day is so transparent that it will be impossible for rigging to occur because each party had representatives at polling places who also keeps an eye on the counting and collation.

The commission is not interested in rigging elections for any party or candidate, he declared unequivocally.
