2024 Elections: The Printing of Ballot Papers has not commence – EC Clarifies

The Electoral Commission (EC) has responded to public concerns regarding the provision of ballot statistics ahead of the printing of ballot papers for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the EC clarified that the printing of ballot papers has not yet commenced.

According to the Commission, the printing of Notices of Poll for the upcoming elections will begin on Friday, October 11, 2024.

However, the actual printing of ballot papers will only start after ballot statistics have been provided to all candidates, political parties, and printing houses.

The EC emphasized that this has been the standard procedure in previous elections and assured the public that it will adhere to the same practice this year.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to delivering transparent, credible, free, and fair elections in December 2024.

The public and stakeholders were urged to trust the Commission in its role to uphold electoral integrity as the country prepares for the 2024 elections.
