”Either they add us or forget about 2024 elections”- PNP Youth Organizer fumes
The People’s National Party (PNP), has hinted of suing the Electoral Commission (EC) at the Supreme Court following the disqualification of their flagbeaerer in the 2024 general elections.
The EC announced the exclusion of PNP Candidate from running in the presidential election on December 7, 2024.
The EC rejected several presidential contenders, including Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, James Kwesi Oppong, John Enyonam Kwakwu Kpikpi, Dr Samuel Sampong Ankrah, and Nii Amu Darko. The remaining candidates are Samuel Apea-Danquah, Desmond Abrefah, and Kofi Asamoah Siaw (Progressive People’s Party). Bernard Mornah from the People’s National Convention (PNC) has also been disqualified.
Speaking on Key Note Show Friday, September 20, Munir Mohammed National Youth Organizer of PNP labeled the Electoral Commissioner as being dishonest to them .
According to him, The PNP will seek “an order of prohibition to reverse the EC balloting for position of presidential candidates for the 7th December elections.
The electoral commission has chosen to defame them, he stated, because they don’t understand why, having informed them of their mistakes, they went back and corrected it before resubmitting it, The commission has not responded to them until today, when they learned through the media that the commission is conducting balloting.
Munir claimed that the commission was planning to thwart their efforts, None of the minor parties come close to us, if you look at the caliber of candidates we have selected, so how come we are disqualified. He asked
He emphasized, “We’re going to impose an injunction on the elections; either they include us or forget about the elections.”
