Ahafo Region: Napo assures cocoa farmers not to fall for the NDC’s deceit
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s running mate, has stated that the government will shortly release the producer price for cocoa beans for the 2024/2025 season.
During his campaign tour to the Asunafo south and north constituencies in the Ahafo Region, he warned cocoa farmers not to be deceived by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on cocoa prices.
He stressed that, the NPP government cares more about their welfare than any other party.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Nobekaw, in the Asunafo South Constituency, Dr. Opoku Prempeh highlighted the incumbent MP Eric Opoku’s role in representing the NDC on food, agricultural and cocoa affairs.
He stated, “The NPP has increased cocoa prices from over 400 cedis to over 2,000 cedis in the last seven years, and very soon, cocoa prices will go up again to bring more value to farmers.”
He further cautioned the people to be wary of the NDC’s tactics.
He also addressed the chiefs and religious leaders at Kwapong and Ayormso in the Asunafo South and North respectively.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh urged constituents to prioritize peace ahead of the elections.
He declared that since the NPP values peace above all things , anyone who stirs up trouble will face the consequences from the law.
Nana Osei Yaw Dwomoh, Nifahene of Noberkaw, Asunafo North Constituency said they have seen unprecedented developments under the NPP.
”Today, because of NPP, we have seen good roads. We have seen electricity extension and an end to dumsor.”

Nana Dwimoh further stated that, Since the era Kwame Nkrumah, no government has catered for the wellbeing of our cocoa farmers than the NPP.
Adding that ,’You certainly deserve a renewed mandate. Equally, your son, Aduse Poku, has justified why he should be our next MP.’
