Wenchi SDA Church honours 20 Virgin Girls

The Wenchi West District of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of the Mid West Ghana Conference of the SDA Church in the Bono Region has awarded 20 young women for remaining virgins.

Young Adventist Women Ministries Coordinator for Wenchi West District of the SDA Church in the Wenchi Municipality, Mrs Nana Amponsah Poku explained that Young Adventist Women Ministries are ministry dedicated to maturing the holistic well-being of young women and girls.

Empowering young girls with the assurance that God created them uniquely themselves, beautiful and lovable,gives them confidence to wisely choose their friends ( both boys and girls) as well as their activities she noted.

Wenchi West District Coordinator for the Young Adventist Women Ministries further explained that Bragoro/Dipo rite is an integral part of the Ghanaians culture over the years it has been used to inculcate useful values into adolescent girls as they prepare to assume their marital responsibilities has been modernized to Christians practice to bring the virgins girls before the Lord and blessed them.

The Associate Pastor of Wenchi West District of the SDA Church, Pastor Andrews Dua Bour Kyereh commended the young girls for remaining virgins.

Pastor Andrews Dua Bour Kyereh also encouraged other girls in the Church as well as gifts across the country to be pure and focus on their education.

The Associate Pastor seized the opportunity to advise parents to endeavor to educate their wards to be self disciplined in all their endeavors.
Some of the young virgins girls expressed their gratitude to leaders of the church for empowering them to maintaining their virginity.

The young girls also encouraged the leaders to continue promoting holistic well-being of other young girls to uplifting Christ in the Church and in the world whilst being a sisters keeper and friend.

The event was held on Saturday January 4,2025 with thanksgiving and get to gather with love ones.

The young virgin girls were ages between 13 years to 16 years of age.
